Meet the coaches of RMC

Head Coach: Eve

RMC founder Eve Massey is an educator turned stay-at-home-mom turned ultra-runner. Trail running has been a passion for her since she was a teen cross-country runner, but she re-dedicated time to it  in her 30s, after being on bedrest during her first pregnancy.  After years of racing shorter distances on trails, Eve ran her first ultramarathon in 2017 and fell in love with the challenge of testing her own limits. Rising Mountains Coaching, founded in 2019, embodies this spirit of adaptation and the idea that anyone can do hard things with focus, hard work, and encouragement.

Eve had some modest success with podium spots in all ultra distances but is currently taking a break from racing. Her favorite ultra distance to race is the 100k, and she loves desert terrain and chasing vert! When Eve isn't racing, crewing, or pacing, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and reading.

Coach Justin

Justin Andreas is a proud trail and ultra runner who has completed many races all over the country, including five 100 milers. His love for the outdoors and running started at a very young age, but once he discovered trail running in 2018, there was no looking back. There is something special with being in nature, cruising on the trails, and crushing some vert!

After completing multiple races, he decided he wanted to help other adventurers crush their goals as well. Beyond his coaching and hobby life, Justin is an active duty Air Force Firefighter, husband of 18 years, dad, and certified nerd. He is currently stationed in Alaska and resides in the North Pole. Coach Nicole

Nicole Castillo is a road and trail runner who lives in Southern California. She currently works at a medical management office, as well as being a yoga instructor and run coach. She loves starting off her days by getting in some miles and catching the sunrise.  Nicole was not active as a kid, teenager, or young adult, but she accidentally found the love of running in 2012. Her running career started off as a way to get in shape and with only being able to run 5 minutes at a time; her passion for running shortly followed.  Since then, she has run seven marathons, numerous half marathons, a handful of 5ks, and dabbled in the ultra-trail world.  Nicole has a background with coaching road runners, as well as trails.

Nicole is currently returning to running after successfully completing treatment for breast cancer.

Tasha’s work in injury prevention and foot care has been featured in documentaries of athletes achieving big career and personal goals. Her biggest personal experience was finishing her first 100 miler. It took her 3 attempts, but then she secured third female. Then she joined a 10k training group - similar to what she now leads - and the rest is history!

Anne loves the camaraderie of trail running and racing. Over the last several years, she has run distances from 5k to 60k and just earned her first buckle by finishing the Javelina 100k!
